Product Introduction
Defoaming technology for solvent-based and solvent-free systems used in airless or air-assisted airless spraying.
Solvent-based or solvent-free 2K polyurethane coatings—common in heavy-duty applications—are often applied via airless/AA airless spray. High nozzle pressure entrains air, and the coating hits the substrate at high speed, creating micro-bubbles that are hard to remove, harming appearance, gloss, viscosity, and durability.
BYK-1880 is a silicone defoamer with patented ABC structure, developed to eliminate these micro-bubbles, especially in 2K high-solids polyurethanes. It also works in traditional spray systems and across many solvent-based and solvent-free coatings.
